About Me

I’m a comics artist and painter working in London, UK. The fact that I now put ‘comics artist’ first is fairly telling… I started out studying fine art at Chelsea College of Art and have a degree in painting, but somewhere along the lines a friend said to me “You’re an artist, I’m a writer – we should make comics together” and for one reason or another I listened. Since then, we (Gwen Kortsen and myself) have published one comic compilation and two graphic novels (and counting) and a number of short comics together, and regularly attend comic conventions and festivals flogging them. You can find more information about that over on our comics website suicidaltoys.com.

I’ve presented some my work along with writer Nasrin Begum at Laydeez do Comics, the Centre for Social Work Practice  and at one of the many SAWCC events promoting the work of creative South Asian women (I’m not South Asian – Nasrin is!)

That aside, I also do one-off illustrations and cards, and yes, I still (occasionally find time to) paint!
